What’s Happenin’ in Wilmington 👀
Thursday, August 15th
Edible Port City Issue Release Party: Come celebrate at the Tap Room at Front Street Brewery with Cocktails based on recipes in the new issue of Edible Port City! From 6pm to 8pm. RSVP online!
Ladies Tee Party at Club Gold Indoor: Grab your girlfriends for a golf party (with swinging tips included) from 6pm to 8pm. No RSVP and it’s free!
Jack Jack 180 Concert: The final concert in the Wrightsville Beach Parks and Recreation Sounds of Summer Series. Bring a lawn chair (and picnic if you would like)! As usual, food trucks will be onsite! 6:30pm.
Frank Grant & The Feeling and Fireworks: Groove tunes start on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk at 6:30pm with fireworks at 9pm! Free admission with food and drink available for purchase.
CAM Park Sundown Series: Free to attend (with a suggested donation of $5) with drinks at light bites available for purchase. Join the Cameron Arts Museum at 7pm for a breathtaking performance by the Lumbee Tribe Culture Team.
History of Rum at The Eagles Dare: Event runs from 7pm to 10pm. Complementary Cocktail included in $25 admission fee. Grab your tickets online before they sell out (only 30 seats available).

Wilmington Run Club: Join a multi-pace running group starting at 6:30am at Hidden Grounds Coffee. Afterward, grab a discounted Coffee to get you through the rest of your work week!
Sunrise Beach Yoga: From 7am to 8am join an all-levels-welcome Yoga class hosted by Salty Dog Yoga and Surf. Meet on Carolina Beach at the Tennessee Avenue access. Bring a towel for your Yoga mat!
Triple Wide in Concert: The Airlie Gardens concert series continues with funk and blues band Triple Wide! Starting at 6pm with $10 admission (kids $3). Bring a picnic and lawn chair (but food and drink will be available for purchase)!
Brown Dirt Cowboys Album Release Party: Doors open at 7pm for 8pm show. Join local rock band Brown Dirt Cowboys as they celebrate the release of “Weary Of The Maze.” Tickets $25.
Comedian KC Shornima: In the Dead Crow Comedy Room Lush Lounge. Shows at 7pm, and 9:30pm with tickets starting at $20. Laugh along with SNL writer KC Shornima and learn why she was banned from two dating apps.
Bailey Zimmerman at Live Oak Bank Pavilion: RELIGIOUSLY. THE TOUR. Grab your tickets online (starting at around $100 dollars). The show starts at 7:30pm with doors opening earlier.

Carolina Beach Farmer’s Market: Every Saturday until the end of September from 8am to 1pm. Browse all sorts of local, fresh produce and food, as well as handmade goods!
Greenfield Lake Family Walk Party: From 9am to 10am, meet guides from Cape Fear Bird Observatory at the Greenfield Lake Boathouse for an educational stroll around the lake!
Book Bag Block Party: Free food, deserts, face paint, haircuts, balloons, and fully stocked backpacks for Elementary through high school ages! Drop by Trinity United Methodist Church from 11am to 2pm. Bonus: live music from Craig Thomas!

🥤Scooters Coffee opens location on College Road: Need a coffee on the way to work (or after your shopping trip to Trader Joe’s)? A new Scooters Coffee Drive Thru opens today along with their new fall drinks! Whether you want to try their signature carmelicious, or grab a pumpkin spice latte (yes it’s already that time) scoot on by!
🌀Hurricane Ernesto increases rip current risk: We’re rolling into another hurricane weekend. Category 1 Ernesto is currently en route to Bermuda, with Wilmington expecting increased rainfall as well as a risk of rip currents. Stay safe out there (and don’t forget to stay out of the water if you see a red flag)!
🌊 Flood damaged street in Ogden (thanks Debby): Dove Field Drive, a popular neighborhood cut through street connecting Ogden and Murrayville, has been damaged by flooded debris and metal from Smith Creek, leaving a fallen tree and exposed pipes. It’s unclear when this will be cleared and any damage fixed so the road can be reopened.
