What’s Happenin’ in Wilmington 👀
Thursday, August 1st
Pollinator Garden Walk: See what’s blooming at Airlie Gardens! Preregistration required for 2pm guided tour. Tickets start at $5 ($3 for kids aged 4-12).
Free Aperitivo Hour: at Ibis Coffee and Cocktails, available with the purchase of a drink. 5pm -7pm.
Soul Shine Market: 5:30-8:30pm featuring 15+ vendors, food trucks and drinks at Freya’s Haus Beer Garden.
Christina Martinez Band (CMB) Concert: Starting at 6:30pm at Wrightsville Beach Parks and Recreation. Bring lawn chairs, a blanket, and a picnic! Coffee and Frozen treats are available for purchase. Leashed dogs welcome!
Fireworks and Boardwalk Blast: featuring country/blues band, The Old North State. Music starts at 6:30pm, fireworks at 9pm at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. Snacks and drinks available for purchase
Jazz in the Garden: Free at Kipos Hellenic Cuisine. Food and drinks available for purchase. Starting at 6:30pm.
Thursday Night Trivia: Seven Mile Post hosts trivia at 6:30 and live music from Su Cru 2 starting at 7pm. Grab some Caribbean cuisine, homemade wings, or burgers while you’re there!
Fireworks Pedal Cruise: BYOB cruise provides a front-row seat to fireworks at Sea Legs Pedal Pub in Carolina Beach. Individual tickets $46. 7:15pm
Karaoke Night: Grab a drink at Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! Karaoke starts at 9pm.
Friday, August 2nd
Wilmington Run Club: Starting at 6:30am at Hidden Grounds Coffee. About a 3-mile run, offering different pace groups. Afterward, grab a discounted coffee at Hidden Grounds!
Pottery Wheel Date Night: Hosted at Bookworm Pottery and Co starting at 6pm. Bring your special someone for beginner-friendly classes. BYOB for 21+.
Teen Game Night: Starting at 6:30pm at the MLK center. Preregister for video games, board games, and refreshments!
Comedian Michael Yo: Twice Emmy nominated Michael Yo at 7pm or 9:30pm at the Dead Crow Comedy Room in the Lush Lounge. Tickets start at $25.
Vivance Music Festival: Starting at 7:30pm enjoy music by Marc Andre Hamelin, quoted in the New York Times as a “performer of near-superhuman technical prowess.” Purchase tickets from the Wilson Center.
Boot Scootin’ Boogie Silent Disco: Pick from three different music channels to boogie to! Starting at 8pm at the Eagles Dare in DT Wilmington. Grab tickets ($10) online to reserve your headphones!
Night Tour: Burgwin Wright House and Gardens: Starting at 9pm. Experience Colonial nightlife without electricity, in this popular guided tour. Space is limited! Preregistration by phone is required (tickets $15).
Saturday, August 3rd
Pier Yoga: At the Crystal Pier by Oceanic Restaurant. All levels, all ages from 7:30am to 8:30am (miss the paid beach parking)!
Riverfront Farmer’s Market: browse locally grown goods and a variety of handmade items. 8am to 1pm on Dock Street between 2nd and Water street.
Seaside Yoga at Blockade Runner Beach Resort: Register in advance with Long Wave Yoga. $16 per Yogi! 8am to 9am (miss the paid beach parking)!
Black Water Adventure Cruise: 10am-12pm at Wilmington Water Tours DT Wilmington. The Cruise travels Northeast up the Cape Fear, providing a glimpse at the wildlife along our River!
Beach Volleyball Tournament: 80’s themed CLASH-O-MANIA at Capt’n Bill’s Backyard Grill and Volleyball. Check-in at 3:30pm dressed in your best 80s outfit. Grab a throwback drink, and compete for prizes in your volleyball division (and prizes for best dressed)! $60 per person.

DareDevil Improv: doors open at 7pm for a 7:30 show at Azalea Station DT Wilmington. Tickets start at $10, with cocktails, beer and wine available for purchase.
Sunday, August 4th
Bloom Gallery Art Exhibit: Featuring new work from Brian and Dianne Evans, and Joanne Giesel and live music by Miles Moore starting at 2pm. Browse the ceramic work and paintings and meet the artists!
Historic Downtown Wilmington Marketplace: browse this local, artisan market of quality, handmade items from 10am to 3pm. On Front Street between Market and Dock.
The Turkey Buzzards - Live at Ted’s: doors open at 3pm for the show at 4pm. Tickets $15
Game and Trivia Night: 5pm-9pm at the Sorrow Drowner. Play a provided game, or bring your own! Trivia starts at 8pm. All ages welcome!
Popular Grove’s Paranormal Tours: Learn the haunting stories of the manor on the new moon. A “Scroll of the Dead” (listing former residents who have passed) will be provided, but download a ghost finding app before you come! 7pm to 8:30pm. Reservation by email required. Tickets $25.
Sunset Cruise and Live Music: Cruise with the sunset down the Cape Fear in a comfy catamaran. Grab a drink and relax to live music. $40 per person. Booking in advance is suggested for 7pm launch time.
The Barbie Movie (2023): The next installment of the free movie series at Carolina Beach Lake Park. The movie starts at dusk (around 8:37pm). Bring your friends and a beach chair!

Kornerstone Bistro: Cozy Mediterranean
Konerstone Bistro, located off market street towards porters neck, is an intimate, dress-up or dress-down Italian restaurant. Featuring a wide variety of Mediterranean cuisine, inspired by French, Spanish, and Italian Riviera, Kornerstone Bistro strives to be the Cornerstone of Italian food in Wilmington. Sit by the wood-fired oven indoors, sip a craft cocktail at the bar, or bring your dog to the outdoor patio!
Kornerstone is known for their wood-fired, build-your-own pizza, and dishes based on fresh, local ingredients such as olive oil, tomato, lemon, and whole grains. Whether you are looking to choose between several gluten-free, vegan or vegetarian options, a classic Italian comfort food, or a fancy, homemade Mediterranean treat, Kornerstone has it. The servers and managers make your visit breezy and comfortable, but if you need a night in, order takeout online!

WILMINGTON NEWS AND UPDATES
🌀It’s Hurricane Season: A tropical wave currently in the Caribbean could affect Wilmington. The National Hurricane Center is watching the tropical system, that will be named Debby if it develops into an official storm. If the disturbance continues on it’s course, it will make impact with the east coast, but no specifics are known yet.
✂️ Now Open: South Front Tavern, serving regional American Cuisine, cocktails and craft beers, opens today - August 1st! This brand new neighborhood tavern offers indoor or outdoor seating and will be open for dinner seven days a week.
⛽️ Wilmington’s First Sheetz Opens: Wilmington’s first Sheetz location opened on Tuesday and celebrated with a grand opening. The Sheetz is at the corner of Shipyard and Independence, open 24 hours a day.
🥗 Vegan Chef Challenge: Starting today through August 31st restaurants all across Wilmington are competing in a Vegan Chef Challenge, offering brand new Vegan menu items for guests to try. Visit veganchefchallenge.org to view participating restaurants and vote for which was your favorite!
