WILMINGTON NEWS AND UPDATES

🌀It’s Hurricane Season: After making her final landfall in South Carolina last night, Tropical Storm Debby will slowly dissipate. However, thanks to Debby’s outer bands, Carolinians (including us in Wilmington) can still expect a couple of days of heavy rain, severe storms, and strong winds. Keep your eyes on the weather app and stay safe!

🌊Flooding set to impact our traffic: Similar to Hurricane Florence in 2018, Debby is moving slower than a typical tropical storm or hurricane, causing flooding to be a major concern, even in the outer bands. Wave Transit System is back up and operating, but the Brunswick Transit System will not be reopening until Friday. Additionally, Bladen County has recommended avoidance of certain roads. View them here!

✈️ New low-cost airline in ILM: Breeze Airways will bring the number of Carriers at ILM to 6. Breeze will begin operating out of ILM just before Valentine’s Day in 2025, offering direct flights from ILM to FL, CT and RI.
