Thursday, February 27

  • Tap Yard Open Mic Night: Musicians and performers! Tap Yard wants you there starting at 8pm to participate in and enjoy a celebration of Wilmington’s creatives! Everyone is welcome (bring your friends and grab a drink)!

  • Alton Brown Live, Last Bite at the Wilson Center: Tonight at 7pm join the famed foodist Alton Brown’s farewell tour. Interested in culinary mega-hacks, funny food songs, and other culinary variety show gems? Tickets are available online now!

  • Sealevel Stringband Music Session at Fermental: The weekend is for relaxing to live music! Starting at 7pm gather with old time musicians for a foot-stomping good time. Family and Pet friendly with Rico’s Mexi Tacos starting at 5pm!

  • Weekly RPG Night: Dungeon-delvers - register online now (table space fills up quickly) to join an adventure running every Wednesday and Thursday night at 6:30pm! These weekly groups are perfect for people looking for a new group, or just a new game!

  • Ladies Tea and Testimony: Hosted at New Hanover Church with tea from china cups and light bites! This Tea and Testimony will be a workshop format to learn how to write and share your own testimony! Swing by for some fellowship with other women! From 2pm to 4pm.

  • Coastal Comic Con: There’s still time to register! This two day event will be held at the Wilmington Convention Center, and will be joined by various guest celebrities! Over 150 artists, vendors, and cosplayers make this the event to beat!

  • Emo Night Karaoke at The Eagles Dare: Song signups start at 7pm for karaoke running until 11:30pm!

  • Film Folks March Sale at Dunton Cine: Support the local film community by shopping over 30 vendors of various supplies, from film equipment to home decor, furniture, antique pieces, and more! From 10am to 4pm and on Sunday from 10am to 2pm! We’ll see you there!

  • The Wave Market at Brunswick Beer & Cider: From 1pm to 5pm shop local vendors, enjoy live music, and an incredible oyster roast!

  • Swing Dance and Jazz Sextet at Hannah Block: In honor of Mardi Gras come by at 6:30 for a beginner lesson, and 7:30 for the jazz and dancing!

  • Fermental Anniversary Bash: Celebrate 12 years of Fermental for beers on tap, giveaways, photo ops, food trucks, live music, drink specials, and more! As always, pet and family friendly with free parking!

📽️Leads Announced for New Comedy Film In Wilmington: ‘The White Lotus’ and ‘Only Murders in The Building’ actors have been announced for local upcoming film produced by Jonas Pate (Outer Banks)! Molly Shannon and Kumail Nanjiani are set to begin filming in March in Wilmington. The comedy film ‘Drivers Ed’ will be filmed in various locations around town including Flaming Amy’s, Hoggard High School, and on various streets! Drivers can expect for some traffic controls and delays throughout march.

🎤Collie Buddz to Perform at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater: Tickets go on sale at 10am on February 28th, so be ready! This Bermudan Reggae artist will be taking the stage on June 20th as a part of the Spark Up Tour. Tickets will be available through Live Nation!

⚡️Power Lines Down on Kerr Avenue: Updated as of 10:41 this morning, power lines holding traffic lights are down on the intersection of Kerr Avenue and MLK Jr Parkway. A section of Kerr has been shut down temporarily due to the power outages. No one has been injured, but drivers are asked to find alternative routes until the outage has been resolved.
