Thursday, March 6

• MT Bottles Trivia at Waterline: If you were thinking that your weekend lineup is missing the Three B’s…. MT Bottles agrees! Join them for trivia at 7pm for Beer, Bacon, and Basketball!

• Emmet Cahill Concert at Thalian Hall: Who says you need to wait until St. Patrick’s day to add a little gold to your pot? Check out the “golden voice of the generation”, Irish singer Emmett Cahill in concert at Thalian Hall.

• Line Dancing at Lazy Pirate: Get your boot-scoot-boogie on at Lazy Pirate! Starting back for the season tonight, line dancing lessons and open dance begin at 7pm every Thursday. Participation is free!

• Coastal Paws Family and Friends Appreciation Sale: After 9 years of serving the pets of Wilmington, Coastal Paws will be closing their door. Support their final hurrah in the community by showing out at the Friends and Family Appreciation Sale. Drop by from 4-8pm at 108 N. Front Street (corner of Princess).

• The Dominican Jazz Project at Cameron Arts Museum: Add a little culture to your weekend with the Dominican Jazz Project at CAM. Event prices vary by membership status and the event begins at 7pm!

• Elevate and Celebrate at Eagle’s Dare: Join a group of cool ladies for a fun time at Eagle’s Dare tonight from 6-8pm. Hosted by WILMA Magazine, this free event aims to help local women build genuine connections. There will be a free mini bouquet bar, a DJ, dancing, and more!

Friday, March 7

• Marcella Arguello at Dead Crow Comedy Club: Looking for a laugh? So is Marcella Arguello. Catch her Friday and Saturday at the Dead Crow Comedy Club. Her show times are 7pm and 9:30pm both days. Doors open at 6pm — tickets are still available so grab yours now!

• Sidewalk Sale at Salty Chic Boutique: Salty Chic is having their biggest sale of the year on apparel, shoes, pocketbooks, and more in addition to new arrivals! Stop by and stock up for summer from 10am-6pm at the Carolina Beach location.

• Folkknot Spring Tour at The Bend: Always wanted to see a seafaring six-piece band? Lucky for you, this is exactly how this NC native band describes their sound! Pop out and see them this Friday at 7pm. Grab an Eastside Sub while you’re there! 

• Champions of Magic at The Wilson Center: Go across the pond… or just downtown… for the Champions of Magic show at The Wilson Center. Enjoy some mind-blowing magic at 7pm! Tickets are still available!

• Speakeasy & Prohibition Walking Tour: Head back to the roaring 20s for a guided Speakeasy and Prohibition Walking Tour beginning at The Ivey to tour some of Wilmington’s most coveted spots from the era. Tickets are available now and do not include beverages.

Saturday, March 8

• The Wilmington Card Show and TCG Expo: Lay down your cards at the Wilmington Card Show and TCG Expo from 9am-4pm this Saturday at Wilmington’s National Guard Facility! Admission is $5 per person and free for kids 12 and under. Check out over 100 tables of specialty cards including Pokemon, sports cards, Anime, and more.

• All Day Fishing Charter at Calabash Fishing Fleet: Kick off spring with a day on the water! Calabash Fishing Fleet is offering a guided Gulf-Stream charter all day Saturday. Bait, Tackle, Rod & Reel, Ice, and Fishing License all included!

• Women of Wilmington Comedy at Laws & Libations: Women of Wilmington will be stealing the stage at Laws & Libations tonight for FREE comedy. Come grab a drink and have a laugh tonight at 4:30pm.

• 16th ANNUAL Big Bloomin’ Orchid Day by Cape Fear Orchid Society: Ready to bring your green thumb out of retirement? Join the Cape Fear Orchid Society for a variety of classes on Orchids, sales, raffle items, and free food and beverages! The event begins at 2pm and tickets are $40 at the door.

• Black Girls Gardening Book Release/Signing Event at Azalea Station: Celebrate the release of local gardener and author Amber of Black Girls Gardening’s new book! Books can be purchased online for preorder or at the event. Doors open at 5pm and is open to all!

• Let’s Dance Vinyl DJ Night at The Underfront Company: Come hear Vinyl DJ’s spin your favorite records and show off your best dance moves tonight at 8pm. Cover is $5 at the door.

• Film and Falafel at Unity of Wilmington: Join Unity of Wilmington for dinner and a movie! They will be offering delicious falafel at 6pm and screening the film Israelism at 7pm. This event is FREE.

Sunday, March 9

• Sip + Shop market at Good Hops Brewing: What’s in a name? For the monthly Sip + Shop Market at Good Hops Brewing, it’s the perfect bookend for your weekend! Drink and shop local from 12-4pm.

• Wilmington True History Tour: Reacquaint yourself with this beautiful city that we call home. Join a former National Park Service Ranger and a local historian at 1:30 to learn about  300 years of Wilmington History in two hours. Tickets are available now on their website!

• Bluegrass Backyard Sunday at Tap Yard: Head over to Tap Yard for some live bluegrass and warm greensky at 3pm Sunday. This event is cover-free and is open to all for some live music, good vibes, and even better drinks.

• Second Sunday Market at Satellite Bar and Lounge: Shop some local favorites as you sip a local favorite for Satellite Bar and Lounge’s monthly market! This event is pet friendly, free, and is open from 12-4pm.

• Weekly Yoga at HiWire: Bending and brews sounds like the perfect combination for your Sunday… if this is your jam, check out weekly yoga at HiWire Brewing! The class is $10 to attend and includes a complimentary pint once you finish!

Tides Taproom — Wilmington’s New Favorite Sports Bar

Tides Taproom certainly deserves a warm welcome this week as we usher in spring weather and the summer season! Located in the Cargo District in the former Bull City Ciderworks building, Tides is here to bring you everything you love most.

The space has been transformed into a sports bar with pool tables, dart boards, skee ball, table-top games, and a plethora of TVs just in time for March Madness. Whether a beer, cider, seltzer, or something nonalcoholic is what you’re looking for – Tides has it. Stop by for the game, a beverage, and a bite from a local foodtruck!

A Total Lunar Eclipse Will be Seen from Wilmington: For the first time in over three years, a total lunar eclipse will be visible in Wilmington the night of March 13th into early March 14th. This event will be visible to the naked eye so keep an eye on the sky!

🎤Brad Paisley to Perform at Live Oak Bank Pavilion: Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday, March 7th so be ready! This country legend will be taking the stage on Thursday, July 24th. Tickets will be available through Live Nation!

Wilmington-Shot Film in Theaters April 4: The Wilmington-shot directorial debut of actor Michael Shannon, “Eric LaRue”, is set to be showing in theaters beginning April 4. Judy Greer stars in the film as the parent of a child who killed three of his high school classmates. Don’t miss it on the big screen!
