What’s Happenin’ in Wilmington 👀

Thursday, October 24th

  • Practical Magic Party: Hosted at Lavender Rain Emporium. Wear your witch hat from 6:30pm to 8:30pm for faux pumpkin decorating, margaritas, spooky treats, and a screening of Practical Magic! 21+, purchase tickets online to join in the fun!

  • Cheeseboard 101: Looking to pick up some new skills? Learn hands-on how to create a (spooky themed) cheeseboard, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm at Grateful Graze. Tickets start at $65, available online.

  • Make Your Own Halloween Welcome Mat: Stop by the ArtSea Shop and Studio from 6pm to 7:30pm, and (for $65) enjoy your choice of pumpkin spice latte, hot chocolate, or chai, all the materials you will need for your mat, and a dedicated teacher!

  • Thursday Night Trivia at Seven Mile Post: Starting at 6:30pm, come for beer specials and good food. And bring your trivia knowledge!

  • Sunset Cruise with Live Acoustic Music: From 7:00pm to 8:30pm grab a drink and relax to live music on a cruise of the Cape Fear River ($40 per ticket) hosted by Wilmington Water Tours!

  • Lighthouse Beer and Wine Festival: Craft beers from various local breweries, food, and live music from 12pm to 5pm at Riverfront Park! Ticket sales (starting at $38) benefit The Carousel Child Advocacy Center.

  • Dream in the Garden Masquerade Party: From 8pm to 12am, live music, prizes for the best costume, and the Blue Shark Vodka, benefiting Atlantic Shark Institute. Secure your dinner reservations now!

  • Kathleen Madigan Comedy: Starting at $55 at the Wilson Center, grab your tickets to various showtimes online before they sell out!

  • Bend and Brew: An hour yoga class, and your choice of a refreshing beer, mimosa, or Bloody Mary, for only $15! Hosted at Wrightsville Beach Brewery from 10am to 12pm.

  • The Market at the Wharf (Rooster and Crow): Free fall-themed market featuring tons of local artisans from 12pm to 4pm.

  • Zen Fest at Dram Tree Tavern: Festival of the dark feminine including palm and tarot readings, walking massage, local vendors, food, drink, and live music. The event runs from 12pm to 4pm.

  • Blackout Skate at Scooters Skating House: $10 per person from 7pm to 10pm with light up items (included in admission) and spooky effects! Wear your best costume for a chance to win the costume contest. 1pm to 4pm.

  • Beetlejuice at the Castle Street District: The (FREE) Movie starts at 7pm at 512 Castle St (next to Graham’s Barbershop). Bring your chairs, blankets, and Beetlejuice attire.

Block Taco - Locally Owned, Walk-Up Taco Joint

A locally owned walk-up taco joint with modern-cozy outdoor (and dog-friendly) seating, Block Taco is an inviting go-to spot for a friend outing or casual date. Their quality ingredients, charming plating, and small town vibes are just the start of what they have to offer!

Located adjacent to the Satellite Bar and Lounge, Block Taco offers a wide variety of flavorful Carnitas, Smash Tacos, Brussels sprout Tacos, and other Caribbean-style dishes such as Ceviche on their rotating menu!

🍎 Applearchy Cider Fest at Brunswick Beer Cider: Are you a lover of cider looking for an exciting mid-week activity? Put this beer and Cider tasting event on your calendar, this Wednesday (November 2nd) from 12pm to 5pm for $35!

🌀Brunswick Community College Shares Results of Relief Drive: Last week, Brunswick Community College held a week long drive to aid those affected by Hurricane Helene. One and a half trucks of supplies were delivered to both Brunswick Family Assistance and Blue Ridge Community College (in Western NC). In addition, $6,000 of donations will go to items such as sleeping bags, blankets, coats, and hats.

🇺🇸 James Taylor playing at Tim Walz rally: Vice President Candidate Tim Walz is set to be a Greenfield Lake Amphitheater today from 3pm to 8pm with James Taylor! Walz will also be visiting various veteran-owned businesses.

⛽️ 7-Eleven opened on Market Street: There’s a new 7/11 in town, and shoppers came out today (10/24) to check it out for their grand opening and free gifts. The new location will include a gas station and lots of Slurpies of course.
